Thursday 12-2PMEST

Oscar Matous (D.J. O)

Oscar is a junior journalism major and political science minor at SRU. He is a regular contributor for “The Rocket,” the student-run newspaper on campus. Going into the Fall 2017 semester, he decided he wanted to be more involved on campus. Having his own radio show was something Oscar always thought about doing. His first show debuted on November 2nd, 2017, at 10 p.m. Since then, Oscar has incorporated a variety of traditions for his show, such as starting and ending each show with the same two songs (“Start Me Up” by The Rolling Stones and Closing Time by Semisonic, respectfully). During his sign off at the conclusion of his show, he likes to play instrumental music from the Star Wars movies. He also started “the somber 30,” which is 30 minutes of emotional music from 10:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. that helps end the dismay from the week. When not on air, you can catch Oscar watching “How I Met Your Mother” and reading poetry.
